Bittersweet Cakes and Catering created an absolutely perfect reception for my wedding. As a cook who routinely prepares from scratch, I had high expectations for my reception—including a complex 15-item tapas menu with a separate 5-item dessert bar. Several caterers I approached, including some of the top ranked caterers in Austin, wouldn’t even consider such a complicated menu or priced it far out of my budget. By contrast, Bittersweet Cakes and Catering was excited about the idea of such an unusual menu, proposing new items that were absolutely amazing and willing to learn how to prepare a couple new foods that I wanted at the wedding to represent my husband’s culture. Although I was initially reluctant to select a smaller caterer, her answers to my concerns were so professional and thoughtful, and the tasting was so much better than that with any other caterer, that I thought she was the only caterer who could probably pull off the menu I wanted.

In the end, Bittersweet Cakes and Catering exceeded all of my expectations. The food was superb, the presentation was beautiful, the staff was courteous and professional, and I didn’t have to deal with a single problem the entire night. The reception was perfect. I highly recommend Bittersweet Cakes and Catering.

Bittersweet Cakes and Catering catered a holiday party for me. The food was wonderful, mostly appetizers. She had spinach puffs, stuffed mushrooms, baked Brie, coconut shrimp, and several desserts. The guests loved it, and Laura managed the kitchen. She kept the serving trays full, the food was hot and what should be crisp was crisp. Everything was perfectly cooked, she brought her own serving trays, and cleaned up. I actually got to enjoy myself and talk to my guests! And then feast on leftovers!
Laura met with me ahead of time to look at menu options. I paid a deposit up front. She arrived when she said she would and was a real pleasure to work with. I will definitely hire her again.
